Dr. Brad R Gilbert, DVM
Dr. Gilbert has always loved critters and knew that he wanted to work with them in his life. He studied veterinary medicine in the cold winters of Saskatoon and graduated with his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine with Honours 1984. After practicing a few years in his hometown of Coquitlam, he moved to North Vancouver and purchased a group of animal hospitals, including Burnaby New Westminster Animal Hospital, with the goal of providing a high standard of excellent pet care for pets throughout the Greater Vancouver region.
Dr. Gilbert thoroughly enjoys meeting pet owners and hearing stories about their pet’s adventures. He is passionate about pet health and welfare and works hard to build lasting relationships with pet owners and pets. Working together as partners, he supports pet owners to provide happy lives for their pets.
Dr. Gilbert’s medical passion is animal dentistry and surgery, although all medicine continues to intrigue him and has an enduring commitment to educating about how best to help their pets lead happy and long healthy lives.
Brad’s other passions are his family, skiing, biking, working out, and spending time with his yellow lab “Chilli.”
Dr. Saman Moaveni, DVM
As a young child, Dr. Moaveni loved animals. During his youth, his family had dogs, cats, fish, a rabbit and a turtle for pets. As he grew older Dr. Moaveni realized that he could meld his great interest in medicine and his passion for pets and people by pursuing veterinary medicine as a career. Dr. Moaveni studied at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at Tabriz University, East Azarbayjan, Iran, and after graduation in 1997 he worked for several years practicing small and large animal medicine.
The year 2002 saw Dr. Moaveni moving to beautiful Vancouver. In 2007 he wrote and passed the National Board Exams entitling him to practice veterinary medicine in Canada. In 2008 Dr Moaveni joined Burnaby New Westminster Animal Hospital, bringing compassion, a big heart, and a great sense of humor into his practice. His caring manner makes all his clients and patients feel at ease. Dr. Moaveni is keenly interested in internal medicine, radiology, and soft tissue surgery. His strong belief in continuing education means that he is always learning newer and better ways to help pets lead healthy lives.
When he is not working he enjoys many outdoor activities including swimming and cycling as well as spending time with his dog, Emma the long-haired dachshund.
